Does anyone have a general idea of a credit score needed to obtain a personal loan?
My credit score is a 629. Would that "fair" score be high enough to obtain a personal loan for at lease 2,000.00? The only loan i have ever taken out at this point is a student loan. Thanks! I do pay all of my bills on time and have proof of that. (I save all of my statements.) I also have been at my job for a little under two years have paid off any "dings" on my credit report and only have 3 revolving accounts (student loan and two credit cards)

- yes you are in luck. the cutoff right now is exactly 610. dont let it drop anymore and you will be fine.
- Start at your personal bank for best results. As long as you will be able to prove your employment and you have a checking account you should be okay. (not a loan officer)
- that is high enough in general...the loan officer will also take a look at your credit report, your playments, and anything else that could effect a risk. you might pay a higher interest rate, but i would feel comfortable with a score like that you should qualify for a loan.
- It really depends on how much you are borrowing, how much you make, how much other debts the you owe. But generally a good credit score to be sure that you get approve for a loan and any credit card is 780. But once again, it depends on all above items that l mentioned at the beginning.
