bad credit with unpaid internet bill in Australia.. help??
I'm 19 years old I just started uni and I am paying bills for the first time ever in my life.. I've been doing pretty well but I recently called my internet company and they said that I haven't paid my account since JUNE due to a mix up (the internet bill was sent to an online billing thing and i thought I was paying it along with my land line) now I think I have bad credit and i've screwed up. THe bill is for 300 dollars and I can pay it but does that mean I get rid of my bad credit?? how do I sort this out?? please someone help

- Okay, so it's going to hurt your credit rating, but you're young. It's only 7 years until it gets fixed by the passing of time. Pay the bill. This will help your credit history. What are you worried about your credit history for anyway? You're only 19. If you play your cards right, and save some money (I can give you some tips) you can buy a secondhand car outright so you don't need a loan, and then save while you're at Uni and later while you're working. If you don't get a credit card, and keep your other finances in check, your credit history should be fine later when you want a home loan. I'm an Aussie too. Never had a credit card or a car loan, but I've had a few overdue bills in the past. Didn't stop me getting a homeloan and buying my own house. So there's hope for you yet. Take a big chill pill. Go drink a six pack of Carlton Draught and have a lamb kebab with garlic sauce. Then focus on all the great things you can do to fix this tiny little blip in your credit history. If you want some tips to budget, give me an email. I've done 2 degrees and I'm still on minimum wage (by personal choice, okay!?) and I'm great with money. Best wishes
- Bad credit is one of the worst problems to have... however there exists a solution. I will hereby talk from my personal experience. I did debt consolidation a couple of years ago, however If I had to do it again I would pay to some minor details, if someone wants to get out of debt today it is pretty easy with a debt consolidation plan, however it may get a bit tricky at times, I suggest you get as much information as possible online on this first, a good place to start in my humble opinion is astraight to the point ebook with question and answer I found : http://www.counselingcreditcarddebt.com
