- Lets just say I wish I had your credit score!! You could get a car with zero down payment if you have a credit history!! I am trying to get the score you have now. Credit card companies are fighting for someone like you!! My advice to you though is "Stay away from credit cards!!!!" RUN RUN RUN please!! google Dave Ramsey Financial Peace and read up on credit cards!!! You already have a positive credit score. Dont fall into the Credit Card Trap!! Please......
- Depends if you show a credit history of long term payments. my score is higher than that but it doesn't matter because i don't have much history. i bought and paid off a car, bought and sold a house, and cannot get a credit card with a good rate.
- I'm sorry about your 640 score. That's pretty bad. You said you had a bankruptcy, that will stay on your report and affect your score for 7 years. You need to start a relationship with a local bank or credit union. They can help you rebuild your credit. In the mean time get use to living on cash. Start making regular payments into a saving account for big purchases ans emergencies. Start paying everything on time utilities, rent, any anything still open. It will be a long hard road for you. Forget about the credit cards for now.
- I would recommend you learn to use cash and not rely on credit (debt) as part of your future. I mean you have already filed and completed a bankruptcy probably because of mismanagement of money. And we have all done that, so I am not coming down on you. I would just advise you to stay away from getting more credit cards to try and "rebuild your credit." Cash can buy you anything you want, except debt. If you learn to live on less than you make, you will be fine. Stop borrowing other people's money at ridiculous interest rates. Put your own money in to some sort of investment or account where it will make interest for you!
- I wouldn't necessarily stay away from credit cards - when used properly they are a great short-term loan, or help with managing expenses better.
