- If you have no current debt then the only way to increase your score is by getting a credit card. Just charge a small amount each month and pay in full. Do not carry over the debt and pay no interest.
- Make all your payments before or on time and also don't apply for any credit card unless it its important to you. Don't give others to check your credit score.
- In order to improve your credit score, you do have to have some kind of tradeline/s reporting, get a store card/credit card and charge something cheap, or use it to pay a utility bill, pay it off in full and then don't use it for a month or so. If you don't want to do that, go to your bank and get a secured credit card, use it for gas or lunch, or anything else cheap, pay it off, and you will see your score climb.
- Here are a few links directly from the main sources. http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre03.shtm Building a better credit report http://www.myfico.com/CreditEducation/ You should find all you need at these 2 sights and all for free If you do not wish to open credit card accounts or obtain loans, then you will not be able to improve your score. Your history of payments makes up most of ones credit scores. Hope this helps answer your question
- This is what your credit score is consisted of budy: 1.Payment History 30% 2.Amounts Owed 30% 3.Length of Credit History 15% 4.New Credit 10% 5.Types of Credit 10% If you absolutley can't get a credit card what you need to do first is stop applying for credit. What you need to do is get a secured credit card and then in 6 months turn it in to a(n) unsecured credit card. around that time apply for a loan, pay it off slowly to build history and never make late payments.3-5 credit cards are the best and 1 loan paid or paying on. you can also piggyback off of someone elses credit card and that will be on your report.
- There are many ways to improve your credit. I tried all the basics myself and wasnt getting fast enough results. If you are interested in some tips here is a link to a book that helped me out. http://www.productsupplycenter.com/web147866
- Auburnboy04, I recommend you call a local credit restoration company. http://www.tipstoimprovecredit.com They should have some programs for you.
- Establishing lines of credit with credit card companies or banks is only risky if you don't have the discipline to use it wisely. Having a good credit score means you have a history of using credit for purchases and then paying those debts in a timely manner. In other words, to get a good score, you'll have to do some borrowing. For more info, see my eHow article, "How to Raise Your Credit Score 100 Points". (click on link below)
