What bank would give me a mortgage with a low credit score?

I have a good job and have been working for a little over 5 years. I make almost $45K a year, but my credit is in the high 500's low 6's. I want a mortgage to purchase a house that cost $54K. Who would give me the loan without a lot of drama??

  1. Banks have become really strict about giving out loans. If you have any past due accounts or collections, you need to settle them first. Have you pulled your own credit report to see what is on it and know what you debt to credit ratio is? Do you have a down payment? Most loans now-a-days are requiring a 10-20% down payment. Have you contacted any banks? I would shop around and talk to some home loan Representatives at a few banks like Bank of America for example to see where your credit history stands and what you need to do in order to get the home of your dreams. Buying a home is a long process, so do some research and find out what your options are. Good luck to you!
