help with credit score

Can I still rent an apartment these days with a lousy credit score?

I've never missed a rent payment, but I have missed some credit card payments in the past.

  1. I rent, and my credit wasn't check out. I think it depends on where you live, and who you are renting from.
  2. Right now, apartment owners are not being picky. With the economy being so bad, they are pretty open to anyone that will pay them. Go out there and try. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
  3. Some places still require good credit. All they really look for though are evictions or anything on your credit from a landlord. As long as you have a steady income with proof they are pretty flexible unless its like a real upscale place then they require a certain credit score.Good luck.
  4. You should get a co-signer, that way you are most likely to be accepted.
  5. It is possible but most landlords will require a bigger deposit or a co-signer.
