I had a collection acct from 08 removed from my report how much should that help my credit score?

1. Since the collection account was pretty new, you might* see a pretty nice jump on your scores. If it was put on your reports in '08 then it hasn't really had a long time to sit and age on your reports. You lost a negative with a short history, versus more damage done by losing a negative with a long history. *Of course, much would probably depend on the rest of your credit file.
2. Probably you have some wrong items in your credit report. Use credit repair service to find and remove such bad stuff from your credit - creditreport.fateback.com
