Do you believe that your bad credit should stop you from getting a job?
If bad credit keeps you from getting a job then how will they pay the bills? I have had bad credit before, but I never did anything wrong at work. How can they allow this to happen. I hear even insurance companies are checking credit reports. Many times My bad credit didn't affect how I paid my mortgage, car, utilities ect. Just a few things. I've been in one place for 20 years with out good credit. How can they judge everyone like this? Is it fair?

- Many companies view how one handles their credit as an indication of how responsible they are. If one will be in a position to handle money or company credit cards, one's credit history has a direct connection to how one would handle company money. Hopefully they will look at the entire credit history, not just the score.
- Seems fair to me, depending on the job. If you have bad credit, I wouldn't trust you with handling cash or giving financial advice to others.
- your right, if your looking for a job, and just because you have bad credit doesn't always mean that your a bad risk. i think that employers and insurance companies should NOT be allowed to base your prem. on your credit. How do they know what caused you to have bad credit. For me, i owned a business and it went out of business and i couldn't find work, and my credit went right down the toilet. i couldn't help it. it was the economy. and i dont think that my credit had anything to do with me finding a job, but i do know that my car insurance was based on my credit. It isnt fair. and i think that it will only get worse.
- Yes because it shows you aren't that smart or you think you are entitled to things you can't afford. And it suggests you will not be a good employee because you will make unwise decisions for the company and/or will possible steal or embezzle money from the company to pay your debts.
- Same thing happened to me like lost and wondering. Had business, went under because of economy. In my area work is really hard to find. Was always responsible about paying bills on time and had good credit. We lived within our means. Then with the economy that changed it all. It does not mean that my whole life I was irresponsible. The bad economy thing that happened was out of my control as well as millions of others. And it could and will happen to many more decent hard-working people. And there are a lot of people out there who will judge no matter what the reason.
