  1. As long as you are sure that someone has tried to check your credit rating, you can call any of the 3 credit reporting agencies and have them send you a copy of your credit report. Equifax is probably the easiest to deal with. I have yet to try www.freecreditreport.com, but I think that will give you less hassels than some of the other sites.
  2. Each credit bureau will give you a free credit report every year. You must write them to request it.
  3. Under the FACT Act amendments to the Fair Credit Reporting Act you are entitled to one free credit file disclosure in a 12 month period. To request this free annual disclosure you may contact the Central Source on-line at www.annualcreditreport.com. You can also contact the Central Source to request this free annual disclosure by calling toll free (877) FACTACT or by using the mail request form available at the central source website: www.annualcreditreport.com.
  4. You can get a copy of all 3 Credit Reports once a year as regulated by the FTC, but to see your FICO score you must pay for it. This information is based upon the Federal Trade Commissions website www.ftc.gov. You can follow the link off the website located on the left hand side if you scroll down under "Hot Topics" you will find "FREE Annual Credit Report". This link is the ONLY authorized online source for you to get a free credit report under federal law. You can get a free report from each of the three national credit reporting companies every 12 months. Some other sites claim to offer "free" credit reports, but require you to sign up (Credit Card info) for "trial" products if you accept a "free" report. The link is www.annualcreditreport.com
  5. You can buy your credit report FICO credit score from brokers, some banks, credit unions, and even loan officers.
